“Defending the Dignity of the Innocent… and the Guilty: The Beautiful Challenge of Building a True Culture of Life”
Sunday, March 19, 6:30 PM
McAllister Board Room, Ferrell Academic Center
Benedictine College, 1020 N. 2nd Street, Atchison, Kansas, 66002
Tricia Worrell is a longtime champion of the dignity of the human person: she started the Respect Life club at her college and later worked as the Student Coordinator for Grand Rapids Right to Life. Her prolife work continued and expanded when, about fifteen years ago, she saw a job opening with her diocese’s Prison and Jail Ministry and heard God asking her, “You’ve worked with the dignity of the innocent… what about those who have done grievous things?” Join us as Ms. Worrell speaks about her current role as Director of Prison and Jail Ministry for the Diocese of Grand Rapids and how this ministry, restorative justice, and advocacy to end the death penalty play a key part in building a culture of life. All are welcome. Ms. Worrell’s presentation is co-sponsored by the Benedictine Sisters of Mount St. Scholastica and by Ray ’67 and Mary (Milleret) ’70 Ring and is organized in coordination with the Benedictine College Center for Service-Learning.
