Administrators visit Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Campus

Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth

Claudia Meyers, President of Cristo Rey Kansas City High School

As Catholic Sisters Week came to a close in March, members of the Cristo Rey Kansas City (CRKC) administrative team visited the SCL campus to join the Mother House and Ross Hall Sisters for Mass. They brought roses and bookmarks made by the students to celebrate our Sisters and thank them for supporting Cristo Rey students. While the bookmarks were being handed out, CRKC President Claudia Meyers said a few words of appreciation. The beautiful roses were placed next to the Virgin Mother statue at the front entrance to Ann Ross Chapel in the Sisters of Charity Motherhouse.

Cristo Rey Kansas City High School is a Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth sponsored high school.  The student population is predominantly Latino and Black American by ethnic group and qualify in part due to economic need.  CRKC belongs to the Cristo Rey Network and incorporates a workday experience with a sponsoring business each week.  These Kansas City-based businesses pay for the student’s tuition and make education for the students possible.

A short video was created by the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth, thanking the Cristo Rey staff for their visit.
