Members of CSKO, Catholic Sisters of Kansas, visited St. Mary’s (St. Mary Queen of the Universe), Salina, Kansas on Sunday, May 7. The SCLs ministered in the parish school from 1887-1900, after which the CSJs of Concordia continued the ministry and gradually moved into parish work and community outreach as well.
This was the third parish visit CSOK members have made to former ministry sites that no longer have Sisters present in ministry. The Sisters met, greeted, and distributed information about how the members of CSOK may be available to continue their ministry to the parishioners. This ministry of presence is one way the CSOK continues the legacy of Religious Life in the State of Kansas.
